Through this colloquium, we will explore academic, literary, and artistic research papers and reflections on the themes of decolonial movements, sectoral studies (indigenous peoples, peasants, workers, etc.), Philippine politics and human rights. This colloquium aims to progressively advance the discussion of concepts of the state, democracy, international relations, social change theory, among others, but above all to highlight experiences of marginality, disempowerment and subalternity, which are usually ignored in the margins of formal academic discourses.

This colloquium will take place as part of the annual conference of the International Coalition for Human Rights in the Philippines (May 3-5, 2024), bringing together people highly invested people in the protection of human rights in the Philippines. With panel discussions, workshops, presentations and artistic creations, themes and dialogues related to human rights in the Philippines will be widely addressed to paint a picture of collective future action plan.
